Details
: Three lights hide behind adjustable yellow chrome pieces. This is a rarely seen piece! LYFA worked with several designers and produced many famous pieces that are still reproduced today. Karlby designed lights from the 1940s throughout his career.

To quote from the excellent reference book Danish Lights 1920-Now: "From 1968, Karlby designed the Pan lamp series, which had polished metal cylinders with coloured interiors as its main motif. The Pantre (Panthree) pendant, launched by Lyfa in 1970, is one of several hanging lamps in the series, which features luminous tubes mounted together in rights on as wall-mounted reliefs. In the latter, the reference to the pan flute is particularly obvious.
All the Pan models are based on the same concept: a tube bisected vertically to produce a back section, upon which a shorter front section is mounted, forming a hollow space that holds a socket and light bulb. The front section can be moved up and down to alter the distribution of downwards and upwards light. The name Pantre indicates that this version features three pan (flute) elements. The three tubular sections are assembled, back to back, to form a luminous sculpture that mainly illuminates itself but also emit light from each of the three light sources downwards and upwards into the room. The back halves have a coloured inside ... which contributes to the lamp's decorative effect when it is switched off."

Newly rewired but may require some adjustment depending on your home setup.
