Details: This lamp is featured in virtually every book on Danish modern design or design of the 20th century and is on the cover of a few! Poul Henningsen (1894-1967) was a leading designer in Denmark starting after WWI. This three-shade design, in continuous production since its introduction has a 3:2:1 size ratio, to reflect light downward & slightly outward. The result is a soft, evenly distributed glow that adds warmth to any room. The purple color on this is discontinued but the lamp is still in production.
