This piece is from Lane's "Tuxedo" grouping, and features a professionally restored headboard and matching footboard. The rosewood bow tie inlays are spread across the back of the headboard, and the footboard features matching grooves for a seamless design.
Headboard: 56 1/2” L x 1 3/4” D x 40” H
Footboard: 57” L x 2 1/4” D x 14 1/2” H
The original advertisement states:
"The clean, crisp lines of this collection are unmistakably American contemporary. Fine gunstock walnut is tastefully accented with Rosewood inlays shaped like tiny bow ties, and the motif is repeated in stretcher supports and hardware. ... The neat, smart look of these pieces suggests modern living – light, airy, and gay but not the least ostentatious."
**It is worth noting that the original owners retrofitted this headboard to work with a queen, but those brackets are no longer present.
