Details: Kurt Østervig (1912–1986) initially trained as a shipbuilder, and switched to furniture after discovering he loved working with wood, not metal. He worked for many well-known Danish manufacturers and his designs have been popular since their inception. His pieces have been displayed both in the Museum of Modern Art in NYC and in the Designmuseum Danmark.
