From the original advertisement:
"Already, Declaration by Drexel has become an American classic . . . persuasive proof of the timelessness of good design. For here is a style that doesn’t depend on contrivance and ornament, but on the honesty of satisfying shapes and the inherent beauty of fine woods . . . richly grained genuine walnut, oiled to a lustrous warmth. Though cleanly contemporary in feeling, Declaration was inspired by our historic heritage . . . the furniture of New York state’s 18th century Shakers. And it’s this subtle blending of modern and antique . . . this union of suave sophistication with straightforward simplicity . . . that gives Declaration such easy versatility. Wouldn’t Declaration make a delightful difference in your home?"
