Details: Drexel’s “Declaration” line, by MacDougall & Stewart, was among the first largely produced MCM lines produced in America. It achieved mainstream success partially due to the high quality walnut veneers used — and certain pieces had Shaker influences, showing that the American market was still looking for transitional pieces. This piece is double sided, with drawers that can be accessed from front or back, and cabinet doors on one side. The entire piece is finished and designed to be a room divider, though it can easily sit against a wall as well.
