Broyhill "Brasilia" Cathedral Coffee Table With Glass Top and Planter

Broyhill Furniture's "Brasilia" line, designed by Mel Smith, is possibly the most desirable line of American mid century modern furniture. This piece, the iconic cathedral coffee table, features eight angled legs, a walnut and glass top, and the original clay pot for the rounded metal holder in the middle. It has been professionally restored and features only small signs of prior use. A new piece of glass has been cut for the top.

The original advertisement book says:

If you look at a photo of the Cathedral of Brasilia, you will immediately see what they are talking about. The designer actually flew to Brasilia and studied the design - but not without stopping in Rio to get the permission of the architect, Oscar Niemeyer, and to discuss the style with him.
